Terms of Use
Last updated: July 6, 2026
1. Introduction and Acceptance
Ruffy Inc. (“Ruffy”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) last updated these Terms of Use (“Terms”) on July 6, 2026. The current version can be accessed at ruffy.ca/terms-of-use. We reserve the right to amend these Terms to reflect changes in law, our practices, or our services. While we may post notice of amendments, please check for updates when using our services. By using Ruffy after any changes, you agree to the updated Terms.
These Terms are a binding agreement between Ruffy and you, the customer (“you”, “your”), governing your use of https://www.ruffy.ca and any related websites, applications, content, products and services (collectively, the “Ruffy Platform”), and your purchase of medications and products through it. By placing an order or using the Ruffy Platform, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Ruffy Platform.
2. The Ruffy Platform and Services
Ruffy owns and operates a technology platform that makes it easy to have your pet’s prescribed medications dispensed by a licensed pharmacy partner and delivered to your door. When your veterinarian has authorized a prescription for your pet, Ruffy arranges for that prescription to be dispensed by a licensed pharmacy partner and delivered to you, processes your order and payment, and makes related pet-health products available for purchase (collectively, the “Services”).
You acknowledge and agree that:
- Ruffy is a technology platform — it is not a pharmacy and not a veterinary practice. Ruffy arranges for prescriptions to be dispensed and delivered but is not itself licensed to dispense medications or to provide veterinary care.
- Your medications are dispensed by an independent, licensed pharmacy partnerengaged by Ruffy. That pharmacy — not Ruffy — is responsible for dispensing your prescription in accordance with its professional and regulatory obligations. The dispensing pharmacy is identified at checkout.
- Prescribing and veterinary care are provided by your own veterinarian, who is independent of Ruffy. Ruffy does not prescribe, does not provide veterinary advice, and does not create or replace a veterinarian-client-patient relationship.
- Ruffy processes orders for prescriptions your veterinarian has authorized— it does not issue prescriptions and does not decide whether a medication is appropriate for your pet; your veterinarian does.
3. Prescriptions and Your Veterinarian
a. A valid prescription from your veterinarian is required. Prescription medications and prescription diets are only dispensed when authorized by a licensed veterinarian who has a valid relationship with you and your pet.
b. Authorization to contact your veterinarian. By placing an order, you authorize Ruffy and the pharmacy partner to contact your veterinarian as needed to confirm, clarify, or renew a prescription (for example, for refills or product questions).
c. Accuracy of information. You agree to provide accurate information about you, your pet, and your veterinarian, and to keep it current. Incorrect information may delay or prevent an order from being processed.
d. Products we may not offer. Certain medications and products, including controlled drugs and substances, may not be available for dispensing or delivery through the Ruffy Platform.
4. The Pharmacy Partner
Medications ordered through the Ruffy Platform are dispensed by a licensed pharmacy partner engaged by Ruffy. The pharmacy responsible for dispensing your order is identified at checkout. Ruffy may engage one or more licensed pharmacy partners and may change the pharmacy it engages; the pharmacy shown to you will reflect the one dispensing your order.
5. Not Veterinary Advice; Emergencies
Information on the Ruffy Platform is general and is not a substitute for professional veterinary care, diagnosis, or treatment.Always follow your veterinarian’s directions and consult them about your pet’s health.
THE RUFFY PLATFORM CANNOT BE USED FOR EMERGENCIES. IF YOUR PET IS EXPERIENCING A MEDICAL EMERGENCY, CONTACT YOUR VETERINARIAN OR YOUR NEAREST EMERGENCY VETERINARY HOSPITAL IMMEDIATELY.
6. Eligibility and Availability
To use the Services, you must be the age of majority in your province or territory of residence, be legally able to enter into these Terms, and provide accurate registration and order information. The Ruffy Platform is available to residents across all provinces and territories of Canada where the Services can lawfully be provided. We may refuse the Services to any person or in any location at our discretion, and may modify or discontinue the Ruffy Platform (in whole or in part) at any time.
7. Accounts
a. Registration. You may need to create an account or complete checkout with true, accurate, current, and complete information, and keep it updated. We may suspend or terminate your account if information proves inaccurate, fraudulent, or incomplete.
b. Account security. You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@ruffy.ca if you suspect unauthorized use.
8. Orders, Pricing, and Payment
a. Placing an order.Submitting an order is an offer to purchase. A prescription order is only processed after your veterinarian’s authorization is confirmed and the pharmacy completes its checks.
b. Ruffy bills you. Ruffy processes payment for your order, and your payment method is charged by Ruffy. You authorize Ruffy to validate your payment method and to charge the applicable amounts.
c. Pricing, taxes, and errors. Prices are in Canadian dollars; applicable taxes and shipping are shown at checkout. Occasionally the Platform may contain errors, including pricing errors, and Ruffy reserves the right to correct them and to cancel any order placed based on an error.
d. Cancellations. You may request changes or cancellation before an order ships; once a prescription has been dispensed it may not be possible to change or cancel it.
9. Shipping, Delivery, and Returns
Prescriptions are shipped after authorization and pharmacy checks are complete; delivery timing and options are shown at checkout. Title and risk of loss pass to you on delivery. If a delivery cannot be completed or an order goes unclaimed, the medication may be returned to the pharmacy and handled per the pharmacy’s policy and applicable law. For safety reasons, dispensed prescription medications generally cannot be returned or refunded once shipped, except as required by law or the dispensing pharmacy’s policy.
10. Electronic and Other Communications
By creating an account or placing an order, you consent to receive service and transactional communications from Ruffy (and the pharmacy partner) by email and/or text message, including your checkout and prescription links, order and payment confirmations, prescription-ready and refill notices, shipping and delivery updates, account and security notices, and other communications necessary to provide the Services or required by law. Because these messages are part of the Services, you will receive them when you place an order or hold an account, even if you opt out of marketing. Marketing and promotional messages are sent separately, only where permitted, in accordance with Canadian anti-spam law (CASL); you can unsubscribe from those at any time using the unsubscribe link or by replying STOP.
11. Intellectual Property and Acceptable Use
a. Ownership. The Ruffy Platform and all content on it — designs, graphics, text, software, logos, trademarks, and other materials (the “Content”) — are owned by or licensed to Ruffy and protected by intellectual property laws. The Platform and Content are licensed, not sold, to you for your personal, non-commercial use to purchase for your own pet(s).

We may revoke your access and terminate your account immediately for any prohibited act.
12. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
a. “As is.”The laws of certain jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of legal warranties or liability; if those laws apply to you, some of the below may not apply. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Ruffy Platform, the Content, and the products are provided “as is” and “as available”, and Ruffy disclaims all warranties, representations, and conditions of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or collateral, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and any warranty that the Platform will be error-free or uninterrupted.
b. No liability for professional services. Ruffy does not provide veterinary or pharmacy services and is not responsible for the decisions of your veterinarian or the professional services of the dispensing pharmacy. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ruffy will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, including personal injury or harm to any pet, lost profits, or loss of data, whether based on warranty, contract, tort, negligence, or any other theory, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Ruffy Platform, the Content, or the Services, or the acts or omissions of any veterinarian, pharmacy, or other third party.
c. Liability cap.To the extent the foregoing limitation does not fully apply, in no event will Ruffy’s total aggregate liability in connection with these Terms or your use of the Ruffy Platform, the Content, or the Services exceed the aggregate amount you paid to Ruffy for the order(s) giving rise to the claim. The existence of more than one claim will not increase this maximum.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ruffy (including its officers, directors, employees, and agents) from and against any claims, demands, losses, damages, fines, penalties, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to: (a) your breach of these Terms or your representations under them; (b) your violation of any law or the rights of a third party; (c) your use of the Ruffy Platform, the Content, or the Services; and (d) the information you provide or actions taken under your account. You release Ruffy from claims arising out of services not provided by Ruffy (for example, veterinary services and prescription delivery services).
14. Dispute Resolution (Arbitration and Class-Action Waiver)
(This section does not apply where excluded by applicable law.)You and Ruffy agree to first try to resolve any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services (a “Dispute”) through good-faith negotiation after written notice. If not resolved within 30 days, the Dispute will be settled by binding arbitration conducted in Ontario, in English, by a single arbitrator, and you waive any right to participate in a class action or class arbitration. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Ruffy may seek injunctive or equitable relief in court to protect its intellectual property.
15. General Provisions
a. Governing law and jurisdiction. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Subject to §14, you and Ruffy submit to the courts of Ontario.

e. Third-party sites. The Platform may link to third-party websites for convenience; we do not endorse and are not responsible for them or their content, and your use of them is subject to their terms.
f. Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, it will be severed and the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
g. Waiver. Our failure to enforce any right does not waive it.
h. Statutory rights. These Terms do not prejudice your mandatory statutory rights as a consumer.
i. Survival.Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including §§11–15) will survive.
