Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 6, 2026
At Ruffy Inc. (“Ruffy”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we collect it, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. By using our website and services (the “Platform”), you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you have any questions, you can contact us at any time using the details at the end.
1. Who is Ruffy
Ruffy is a technology platform that makes it easy to have your pet’s prescribed medications dispensed by a licensed pharmacy and delivered to your door. When your veterinarian has authorized a prescription for your pet, we arrange for it to be dispensed by a licensed pharmacy and delivered to you, and we offer related pet-health products for purchase. Ruffy is not a pharmacy and is not a veterinary practice.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following information so we can process your order and deliver your pet’s medications:
a. Contact and shipping information— your name, email address, phone number, and delivery address.
b. Pet and prescription information— details about your pet, the prescription authorized by your veterinarian, your veterinarian’s information, and related information needed to fill and deliver your order and keep your records accurate.
c. Payment information— when you pay for an order, your payment is processed by a third-party payment provider. We may use different payment providers and may change them from time to time. We do not collect or store your full card or bank account numbers; we may receive transaction confirmations and summary details (for example, whether a payment was approved).
d. Account and usage information— your login details, order history, and technical information we collect automatically when you use the Platform. This includes your IP address and its approximate geographic location, device and browser type and configuration, the pages you view and links you click, referring and exit pages, language preferences, date and time of use, and cookie and similar identifier data.
3. How We Collect Information
We collect most of this information directly from you— when you create an account, place an order, provide your pet’s and veterinarian’s details, or contact us. We may receive some information from others, such as a confirmation from our payment provider that a payment was approved or declined, or prescription information from your veterinarian.
We also collect information automatically when you use the Platform, using technologies such as:
- Cookies— small data files placed on your device that let us keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the Platform is used. You can disable or delete cookies through your browser settings (see “Your Choices” below), though some parts of the Platform may not work properly if you do.
- Log files— records of activity on the Platform, which may include your IP address, browser type, internet service provider, referring and exit pages, and date/time stamps.
- Web beacons and pixels— small files that let us count and recognize users and understand how content on the Platform is used.
- Analytics— we use analytics services and our e-commerce platform’s built-in analytics to understand how visitors interact with the Platform so we can improve it. These services may use cookies and similar technologies to collect the technical information described above.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use your information for the following purposes:
- To provide our services— to process, fill, and deliver your orders, arrange dispensing with the pharmacy, and confirm or clarify a prescription with your veterinarian, including for refills.
- To manage your account and support you— to register and authenticate you, provide customer support, and respond to your questions.
- To communicate with you— to send you service and transactional messages by email and/or text message, such as your checkout and prescription links, order and payment confirmations, prescription-ready and refill notices, shipping and delivery updates, account and security notices, and changes to our Platform, Terms, or this Policy. These messages are a necessary part of providing the service, so you will receive them when you place an order or hold an account, even if you have opted out of marketing. Separately, where you’ve agreed to receive them, we may send marketing or promotional messages, which you can unsubscribe from at any time.
- To operate and improve the Platform— to monitor and analyze how the Platform is used, troubleshoot problems, and develop and improve our features, products, and services.
- To detect and prevent fraud and protect security— to detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent, unauthorized, or malicious activity, and to protect the security and integrity of the Platform, our services, and your account.
- To create de-identified and aggregated information— we may de-identify or aggregate information so it can no longer reasonably identify you, and use it for analytics, reporting, research, and improving our services. We will not attempt to re-identify it.
- To meet our legal obligations— to comply with applicable laws and enforce our terms, including maintaining unsubscribe and do-not-contact lists as required under anti-spam laws.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the service:
a. The pharmacy. We share your and your pet’s information with the licensed pharmacy that dispenses your order, so it can fill and ship your prescription and keep proper records.
b. Your veterinarian and veterinary services. We may share information with your pet’s veterinarian (or the veterinary service through which your prescription was authorized) to confirm, clarify, or renew a prescription.
c. Service providers. We share information with the providers that help us operate — such as payment processors, shipping and delivery couriers, hosting and technology providers, and analytics providers. We may use different providers for these functions and may change them from time to time. They may only use your information to perform services for us.
d. Legal and safety. We may share information where required by law or legal process, to enforce our terms, to prevent fraud, or to protect the safety or rights of any person.
e. De-identified and aggregated data.We may create aggregated and anonymized information — such as product volumes, trends, and insights that do not identify you or your pet — and we may share, license, provide, or otherwise make available this de-identified information to product manufacturers, suppliers, researchers, and other third parties, for commercial, program, rebate, reporting, and research purposes. This information is de-identified and cannot reasonably be used to identify you, and we will not attempt to re-identify it. We do not share information that identifies you for these purposes.
f. Business transfers. If Ruffy is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
6. AI and Automated Tools
We may use internal tools and third-party software that use artificial intelligence (“AI”) and machine learning to support the delivery and operation of our services — for example, to generate content and responses, personalize your experience, send automated responses, categorize and route inquiries, provide general information about your orders and services, and improve how the Platform works. These systems may analyze de-identified or aggregated information to help us and our service providers operate and improve the Platform.
We do not use AI to make prescribing or veterinary decisions. Prescribing and veterinary care are provided by your veterinarian, and dispensing decisions are made by the licensed pharmacy.
7. Your Choices
Marketing messages. If you don’t want marketing emails or texts, you can unsubscribe using the link in any marketing email, by replying STOP to a text, or by contacting us. Even if you opt out of marketing, we’ll still send you transactional messages about your orders and account.
Cookies. You can set your browser to refuse or delete cookies; some parts of the Platform may not work properly if you do.
8. Accessing and Correcting Your Information
You can review and update your account information by logging in, or by contacting us. You can also ask us to correct or delete information we hold about you; note that deleting certain information may require closing your account, and we may need to retain some information as required by law or by the pharmacy’s record-keeping obligations.
9. How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep your information for as long as we need it to provide the service, and to meet our legal, tax, and business obligations. The pharmacy that dispenses your order is also required to retain prescription and dispensing records for the minimum periods set by the pharmacy and veterinary colleges in each province. We may keep de-identified or aggregated information, which no longer identifies you, for analytics and to improve our services.
10. Data Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so while we work to protect your information, we can’t guarantee absolute security. Keep your account password confidential.
11. Children
Ruffy’s Platform and products are intended for adults purchasing for their pets. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date above and post the updated policy on this page. Please check back periodically.
